Overview
Fieldnote respects your privacy. This policy explains what we do with your information when you contact us or take part in remote tasks through the platform.
1. What we collect
Only what is needed, and nothing before you message us.
- Direct information: first name, surname, WhatsApp or email contact, region, the hours you can give.
- Payment details: requested only after a task is approved, to pay you — never on this website.
- Technical data: IP address, browser and a device identifier, used to prevent fraud and duplicate accounts.
- The week planner and the offer check on this site store your answers only in your browser (sessionStorage). They are not sent to us.
2. Why we use it
Your data is used only to:
- match you with suitable remote tasks;
- pay you after a task is approved;
- keep the platform secure and limit abusive multi-accounts.
3. Location
We check a general area from your IP address to confirm UK residence. We never use GPS or track your movements.
4. Who else sees it
Fieldnote never sells your data. Sharing is limited to:
- Payment providers regulated in the UK, only to make transfers for approved tasks.
- Authorities, only where the law requires it.
- WhatsApp (Meta Platforms Ireland): if you choose to message us on WhatsApp, that conversation is subject to WhatsApp's own privacy policy. Email is available if you prefer.
5. Cookies and measurement
This site sets no advertising cookies unless you accept them in the banner. If you decline, only anonymous, cookieless signals are sent to measure that an advert led to a visit. You can change your choice at any time from 'Cookie settings' in the footer.
6. Security and retention
Encrypted connection (HTTPS/TLS) and access limited to authorised staff. We keep data for as long as needed to handle your application and payments, then delete or anonymise it.
7. Under 18s
The service is for adults only. Accounts and data found to belong to anyone under 18 are deleted.
8. Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. You can withdraw from the platform at any time. Write to the contact address in the footer. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
